This is without a doubt the worst high quality cutting mat ever made. It is genuinely high-quality, made of a robust material that will certainly last for quite some time. However, it is only printed on one side, which means that if you want to manage wear or just reverse it if there is excessive wear in a region, you really can't do that. Also, and this is the kicker that is mind-boggling but is hard to imagine if you don't have a mat like it (because why would you) - there are no corners where the 0 indexes meet. I have never seen a mat labeled like this, and it is *monumentally* frustrating to use, as you're basically always invested in doing subtraction to figure out what one axis intersection should be at. To perhaps explain clearer (and you can see in the pictures, even, so it's not like we weren't warned I guess) - there is no corner where 0 (or 1) are the labels for both sides. On the 44" side 44 always meets 0 on the 36" side, and vice versa. So if you want to corner your fabric and mark or cut say....17x33...you can't line it up at 1 and go to 18 on one side and 34 on the other - on one side you're going to have to subtract from the maximum to find your spot.

Hi Nick, Thanks for taking the time to reach out and alert us to this. You're right - it is better when the 0 indexes meet. We've taken note of your concerns and our Product Development team is on it! Thanks for being our customer, and Happy Sewing!

Very impressed with this cutting mat. Thick and heavy enough to protect the furniture surface and very good grid. Also like that it is white with green lines; it is much easier to read.
